Encounter with the Gods of Ancient Peru

We took a 45 minute guided tour to the splendid Pachacamac Citadel, sanctuary of the Pachacamac god, who was considered to be the creator of the universe by the ancient Indian peoples. The citadel has temples, pyramids and palaces.

The entire place was sacred and part of the axis of the world.

We hiked over a mile to the top of the Temple of the Sun which had a beautiful panoramic view.

Life in Peru

Lunch at 2:30pm at Astrid y Gaston

We were told this is the best restaurant in Lima, run by Gaston Acurio and his wife Astrid, who turned Peruvian criollo cuisine into an art form in a colonial style building with elegant interior. It lived up to its image!
